ER Doc "Too Old"

Apparently, the producers of NBC's ER thing that Alex Kingston, the witty British surgeon is too old for the show. This is disappointing, as it's one of my favorite shows, year after year. I'm not quite sure exactly when her contract ended or ends. The article didn't say if it was up already or up after next season. I just don't understand how 41 is too old for being on a television series of that nature. Maybe I just like her for her accent. I'm a sucker for British accents.

Maryland Liquor Laws

I went to get some wine/beer the other day at this store that sells the works -- wine, beer, and liquor. It's confusing getting used to how alcoholic products are sold in different areas. In PA, wine and hard liquor are only sold at state run liquor stores, while beer is only sold at beer distributors and bars in much smaller quantities. You can't buy any alcohol in grocery or convenient stores. In NY, it seems you can buy beer almost everywhere, in Wegman's (which I miss greatly down here), gas stations, specialty stores (like Beers of the World!), etc. Wine and hard liquor are sold in commercially-owned liquor stores. In MD, like PA, no alcohol is sold in grocery stores. There are stores however that sell all types of alcoholic beverages. Some bars sell beer and even hard liquor. And there are places that sell just beer. Some of these places advertise that they sell "package goods," which is a term I hadn't heard until I came down here. All this is so confusing.

Apparently there is a county law that requires a photocopy of your drivers license on file for 90 days for people under 25 in Anne Arundel County, which borders where I live in Howard County. I was told this when I questioned why they wanted a photocopy of my license. I've been looking for more information on this law but haven't been able to find any.
