Puppy Update

I'm home for break so that means I get to see Abbey (our dog). She is doing better and eating again. When she was sick she was barely eating. She did, however, lose some weight, which is a good thing because she was getting quite chubby. Anyhow, she's still on medication and on a people food/canned food diet. She started eating again when my mom was making deer meat (which my parents like but I hate) and Abbey ended up eating my parents dinner. They let her because she hadn't eaten right (even when the vet put her on a burger and rice diet) in such a while and was glad she got her appetite back. I was planning on writing this earlier and I would have left it at that, but since then she threw up. I hope she isn't having a setback. I'm sure she'll be fine.

Rosie on War

On her Donahue appearance last week, Rosie O'Donnell, sporting a jean jacket with "No War" written in marker on the back, said:

Any president can wage war, but few can pave peace.

Well put, I think. Rosie supports the efforts of MoveOn.org. So do I. We can't let this happen. I don't have anything eloquent to say, but we just can't let so many innocent people die just because our leaders are war crazy.

Inspections work.

03.03.03

Wooh, just realized that about the date today. I heard it on the news. Weird... Oh, I guess my birthday is a palendrome (12.21). Neat. Ok, I'm just a dork.

Character and Reputation

I think I'm going to start putting quotes in here occasionally. I used to have a quotes page; maybe I'll bring it back sometime. Or a separate blog for quotes. I don't know, but I put them in my AIM profile but eventually I run out of room on there and there's nowhere else to put them when I need to remove them.

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

I'm Psychic

Thursday when I took a nap when I got home after all my classes, I dreamt that a friend from high school got a haircut and died her hair black (she's normally blond). When she asked me what I thought about it, I made a face and then she flipped out at me.... I hadn't talked to her for a little while, so I IMed her to see how she was and asked her if by any chance she got her hair cut or colored recently. And she did that afternoon but not black, thankfully. Weird.

More About Me

In case you thought my about page didn't have enough about me, look again. I updtated it with an autobiography I had to do for a class and I thing turned out quite well in describing me. And I added two pictures, one of me just three days old, and another from this past summer in Long Beach Island taken by my Aunt Debb. I just recently scanned the baby picture to preserve it digitally before it gets any more yellowed or damaged. I tried to touch it up the best I could. Enjoy!

High on Life

Today is a good day. Nothing exceptional happened but I'm in such a great mood. I love this feeling; I hope it doesn't go away. After writing that autobiography, as lame as it may be, I have been a lot more reflective and thankful for everything in my life--friends, family, school, etc. When you really stop and think about it, there's so much to be thankful for that the worries and negatives seem to just slip out of view. It's amazing.

Today, in particular, a few things are worth pointing out. I love my photo class; I'm having a blast with it! We got back our contact sheets (like index prints the size of the negatives) for our first roll(s) of film. I really like how some of my negatives turned out. I can't wait to print them. Plus, my one instructor pointed out the framing of some pictures I took of a horse to the class and that felt good.

I also went to Hallmark to get my mom a birthday card and the lady at the check-out was incredibly bright (like the sun outside!) and cheerful. She just gave me a big smile and we did this bit:

She: "Have a great day." Me: "Thanks, you too." She: "Thank you."

I know it may sound trivial, but I love little interactions like that when you really sense that someone is sincere and not just routinely saying it.
