Lunchtime Outing
I meant to go to the post office this morning at 9:00 after my class was over, but I forgot. I remembered around lunchtime that I had to mail some things. I drove over there through the slop and slush and after multiple windshield washings I made it. I could have just dropped the things in the drive up mailbox, but I wanted to take them inside because they'd go directly in the bin (right?). I of course had gloves on because it's frigid out there and envelopes in hand I got out of my car and the wind just swept by and pulled them right out of my hand taking them to the wet, sloppy, and dirty ground. Ugh. What a mess. When will spring be here?
Then on the way back I stopped at Subway and experienced an ultra efficient human assembly line that got me in and out of there in about three minutes--one person to take my order and cut the bread, another to add meat and cheese, another to add all the other toppings I wanted, and finally someone to check me out. Impressive! (For those who are interested, I got turkey and ham on whole wheat with Provolone, lettuce, black olives, sweet peppers, pickles, and honey mustard.) The only thing that slowed the process down was my indecisiveness (go figure). It was yummy.
