Trail Mix

Have you heard of this drug cocktail -- a combination of Viagra, ecstasy, and cocaine -- called "trail mix?" I don't know about you, but it sounds like a good substitute for the traditional trail mix of nuts and dried fruit normally taken on a nice hike through the wilderness. "Oops, did I just fall off a cliff? I thought it was just a small step---" *Splat*

UPDATE: After doing some research, I discovered that trail mix does not contain cocaine, just Viagra and ecstasy. It also goes by the names of "sextacy" and "hammerheading."

Microsoft and Tonya Harding

A judge hearing Sun's case against Microsoft compared the company's dealings with Sun's Java to figure skater Tonya Harding. Check out the article I found (there are others, too) from a recently-discovered, pretty decent tech news site. What's next, Bill Gates wrestling? I hope not; he will get crushed.

Rochester Weather

My car got a bath yesterday as the air was a bit milder. It was a ruby, glistening in the short periods of winter sun. Today my car has a coating of salt powder blanketing the formerly shiny surface. It didn't even last 24 hours. This morning a record low of 2 degrees F was set; when I woke up it was 4. Yay for Rochester weather.

Hoare's Software Design

There are two ways of constructing a software design. One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies. And the other is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies.
