Almost Famous

I always write down or save good quotes in some shape or form when I come across one. Here are two from a favorite movie of mine, written and directed by Cameron Crowe, that I had jotted down while watching it once, and just found while going through some papers:

I always tell the girls never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously then you never get hurt. If you never get hurt then you always have fun, and if you ever get lonely you can just go to the record store and visit your friends.

—Penny Lane (Kate Hudson)

The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.

—Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman)

I find it true that music is a good companion sometimes. And sharing uncoolness is always a worthwile activity.
